Mr. Mensan Adeboke Affambi is a highly trained and experienced banker, having carved out his niche in the industry through years of dedicated services and training. His expertise in banking traverses different key areas, including Business Promotions, Credits and Corporate Governance.
Mr. Affambi was appointed as the Managing Director of Sahel Sahara Bank in March 2016. Prior to this appointment, he was the Deputy Managing Directorof BSIC Togo, a position he held from 2009. He also served BSIC Togo as its Director of Credit and Sales at different times.
Mr. Affambi held other key positions with a number of other banks, notably at International Bank for Africa in Togo (BIA-TOGO) where he served as the Head of Corporate and Retail Customer Service Department of the Bank.
Mr. Affambi’s expertise transcends the banking industry. He was the Deputy Supervisor in charge of Administration and Business Development at Quality Oil of North Carolina. He also served as Project Coordinator for a number of projects that were undertaken by the Togolese Education Ministry.
Mr. Affambi is also well versed in corporate governance, having been a Board member of BSIC Chad and BSIC Senegal as well as the secretary to the Board of Directors of BSIC Togo.
Mr. Affambi holds a Master’s Degree in Ports Management & Administration, a second Master’s Degree in Public Management & Administration and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Economic Development Policy all from the University of Anvers (Belgium). These are in addition to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and a Diploma in Advance Special Studies in Banking that he obtained from the University of Benin (Lomé, Togo) and the Technical Institute of Banking (ITB) (France) respectively as well as other specialized courses in banking and finance.
Mr. Affambi is also an accomplished academic and writer. He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Management at the University of Benin, Lomé. He has also authored several articles on economic and finance.
Mr. Affambi is married with two children.
Mr. Mohamed K.S. Shalbek, was born in Libya on the 1st of January, 1959. He holds a Diploma in Finance and Banking Science from Arabic Academy for Finance and Banking Science, Aman Jordan from 1990-1991. He also obtained a diploma in Credit administration in the same Institution and same year.
He has accomplished a professional career in the banking sector with over 38 years of banking experience with National and Regional Banks.
He is the current Managing Director, BSIC Gambia and the Board Chairman for BSIC Ghana Limited as well as BSIC Benin, a position that he has held over the past three (3) years. He was also a Board chairman for BSIC Central Afrique from 2011-2012.
He worked as the LC of foreign operations department Jomhoriya Bank, head office (formally Umma Bank) from 1976-1984. He then became the head of LC of foreign operations department from 1984-1989. He served as the Deputy Manager for Credit administration from 1992-1996 in Jomhoriya Bank, head office.
Mr. Mohamed K.S. Shalbek was the Manager for the International Foreign Operations Division in Jomhoriya Bank, head office in 2000. He became the Deputy Manager for the International financing division, BSIC Head Office Tripoli in 2001 and the Deputy Manager for Affiliated branches in 2002.
He was the Head of credit division in April 2006- July, 2006 for BSIC Head office-Alwaha Bank and became the General Manager for BSIC Gambia from April 2006- April 2009.
He was the deputy General Manager for BSIC Head Office-Alwaha Bank from 2009-2010. He was also the Manager in charge of the Credit Division, Head Office in 2011. He has also served as the Deputy Managing Director for BSIC Senegal from January 2012 – June 2013.
Mr. Mohamed K.S.Shalbek worked with the committee to set up a migration from the manual system of the record keeping to the present computerised system in Umma Bank. He was also responsible for the review of the operating and procedural manuals of all the departments having an input into the trial balance of the bank.
He was born on 23rd February, 1963 in Libya. Mr. Edawadi is currently a member of the board of BSIC (Ghana) and also the Deputy Manager of Foreign Relations and Treasury Department (BSIC Head Office, Tripoli).
He also served as Chairman and Director General Secretary, Employee Foreign Relations Department SWIFT, Member of the committee of bank swift and several other capacities at the BSIC Head Office, Tripoli.
He played same and similar roles at Alwaha Bank, Head Office, between 2006 and 2009. He was also the Manager responsible for the SWIFT center in Benin Cotonou from 2011 to 2014. His rich experience in the banking industry spans over a decade. He holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering (University of Tripoli).
He is the Deputy Manager of the IT Department of BSIC Libya and a current board member of BSIC (Ghana). Prior to this, Mr. Elaougazi was the Head of IT Department, BSIC Gambia (2012-2013).
He was also the Assistant Manager of the Account Department, BSIC Libya from (2006-2011). Mr. Elaougazi was the Project Supervisor/Technical Support for Dawlia Computers from 1998-2000. He was also the System Analyst/Programmer at General Post and Telecommunication Company (GPTC) from 1996-1998.
A Programmer for NSR International Company (former NCR subsidiary in Libya) and also as a part time teacher at the National Institute for Management and the Higher Institute for Management and Financial Occupations, Tripoli-Libya from 1994 -1998.
Mr. Elaougazi is a fellow of Lane Community College, Eugene, Oregon USA from 1979-1981 where he holds a Degree in Arts and Science. He holds a BSc Degree in Computer Science from the Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington, USA from 1981-1984. He also obtained a Post graduate degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, and Management from 1984-1987 from Gonzaga University, Spokane, Washington, USA.
Mr. Mohammed is a Libyan born on the 23rd day of August, 1957. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors for BSIC (Ghana) Limited and also Director of Training and Personal Affairs at BSIC Head Office in Tripoli. He was the Director of Administration and Finance at BSIC Head Office from 2009 to 2011. Between 1980 and 2006, Mr. Omar worked in various management positions with the National Institute for Management where he served as Assistant Professor, Head of Course Department and Head of Employment Development. He also worked as a Translator and Administrative Expert at the African Centre for Search and Development in the Institute.
Muctar Moubarak Abbas holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from the University of Ghana.
He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association, having been called to the Ghana Bar in 2001. He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), UK. Mr. Abbas was a partner at Law Bureau, a private law firm in Accra where he was in charge of corporate & commercial practice. He has served as an external legal advisor and Company Secretary for many multinational companies in Ghana, including some financial institutions. He also worked as a consultant for some local and international organizations, including TIZ, Ghana Integrity Initiative (Transparency International- Ghana), Judicial Service, Law Reform Commission and a Part -Time lecturer in Company and Constitutional law at the University of Ghana, City Campus.
